Determining the direction and trends of development in Petaling Jaya in line with the national mission and Selangor’s internationalisation vision, and ensuring that development activities are implemented according to gazetted development plans.

PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF ROADS WITHIN THE CITY
Preparing a comprehensive road master plan with emphasis on modern and systematic design, and implementing high-quality construction and maintenance projects.

PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC FACILITIES
Identifying the needs of all segments of society and providing the best infrastructure and public facilities for city residents.

ENFORCEMENT OF MUNICIPAL LAWS
Informing and educating the public and city residents to comply with established laws and regulations. Enforcing legislation as provided under relevant Acts and by-laws to create a safe and liveable city.

PROVISION OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES AND PUBLIC HEALTH CONTROL
Providing professional and high-quality municipal and public health services in accordance with the enforced Acts and by-laws.

CITY BEAUTIFICATION AND ENHANCEMENT
Creating a city environment that is beautiful, comfortable, safe, and clean, and providing a variety of recreational facilities.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY DRAINAGE SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
Developing environmentally friendly drainage infrastructure to address flooding issues, and providing a high-quality and responsive drainage system in line with development needs.

MANAGEMENT OF ASSESSMENT TAX AND SUPPORTING REVENUE SOURCES
Managing assessment tax revenue in accordance with the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171), while increasing revenue through other sources to strengthen financial standing.

REGULATION OF BUSINESS ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE ISSUANCE OF BUSINESS LICENCES
Regulating business activities through the issuance of business premises and advertisement licences in line with enforced policies and laws.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Developing an efficient, smart, and systematic traffic and public transportation system to enhance satisfaction for road users and pedestrians.

URBAN SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Driving effective development to improve the social and economic status of Petaling Jaya through strategic collaboration with various parties, including developers, manufacturers, traders, and others.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Developing a progressive society in which all citizens enjoy a high quality of life, uphold positive social and spiritual values, and foster a sense of pride and love for the nation.
